About Us: We Are Simply Christians

Saint Peter’s Central Church of Christ

We are simply Christians.

We are a group of people who are doing our best to love the Lord. When you come and visit us, we hope that you will find us to be a warm and welcoming group. Jesus says, “by this you will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another “ (John 13:35). Our effort is to create a community of believers that welcome all and give anyone who would desire to worship with us a place to call home.

We strive to maintain a Bible-centered focus in our service. By looking to the scriptures and understanding what they mean we can then make wonderful application to the circumstances we face today (2 Tim. 3:16-17). We strive to follow the bible "in spirit and in truth" (John 4:24). This means that we take the bible literally and try to follow the commands in the NT as closely as possible. We also, consider that culture and times change and some instruction is given based on a particular situation. In such instances, we try to follow the "spirit" of those laws and apply the concepts and principles provided to our current circumstances.

Because we understand that we are not perfect and have our failings, we greatly depend and appreciate that we are saved by grace through faith and not a system of perfect law-keeping (Eph. 2:8-9). That being said we continue to do the best we can to follow what God has said and use it as our authority for all that we do (2 Tim. 3:16-17)

On our Sunday worship services, we will engage in singing to God (Eph. 5:19), offering prayers (Acts 2:42), partaking of the Lord’s supper (Acts 20:7; 1 Cor. 11:23-33), a lesson/sermon based on God’s word (2 Tim. 4:2), and a free-will opportunity to contribute to the local work (2 Cor. 8:1-8) . All are welcome to participate in these acts of worship but please feel comfortable to simply observe.

Our services are meant to worship God and encourage our fellow man as we grow in serving our Lord. We encourage you to ask questions about God, the church, or any other spiritual consideration you may have and we will do our best to give you a biblical answer. We are always open to taking time to sit down and discuss these things after services or setting up a time to address any interest you may have in your home. Our goal is simply to help people develop a relationship with Jesus and to draw closer to Him on their walk throughout life until we ultimately have a home with Him in heaven.

If there are any questions that we can answer before you visit us, please feel free to contact us through any of the following information. Until then, we ask for your prayers for our efforts to serve God and be a light in the community and we will continue to pray for all men everyone to come to know God and share in his great blessings.

Grace and Peace,
